This is the business

August 16th, 2007 · No Comments

While this has nothing whatsoever to do with the Cookham Wanderers I thought it looked like something that we could do with.  The idea of having a release mechanism would mean that we could have an amazing forward attack.

This looks like some really serious fun!

Timmy hits the green carpet

June 12th, 2007 · No Comments

Timmy Mallett did us proud, representing the Cookham Wanderers on the Green carpet for the launch of Shrek the Third, last night.

”Mike Myers did his best impression of the office joker at a stockbroking firm in a rather smart suit, a good look for business meetings but not exactly cool. In the fun stakes he was shown up by national treasure Timmy Mallett who flew the flag for British eccenticity by wearing (as per usual) a completely bonkers outfit.”

4:2 to the Wanderers

May 14th, 2007 · No Comments

What a result!  The Cookham boys managed to outdo themselves last night.  In front of a crowd of 47 (at best) the Wanderers got off to a fantastic start.  Loosing the right midfield to a small hole in the ground was a stroke of genius as it brought the man of the match, Tim Rose,  onto the pitch from the start.

The Wanderers got off to a fantastic start and were 3:0 at half time.

The second half saw more subsitutes as both sides started to suffer from the pace of the game.  The end result of 4:2 to the Wanderers was a fantastic result and one which will result in the retiring of the blue shirts in honour of this fine victory. (We hope)

The team has returned to Colletta to prepare for tonight’s match.  At this moment the team in watching the Liverpool : Charlton match on Sky, to get some tips on how to play.

We are actually a little nervous as the opposition seems to consist of footballers who are all under 25!  The average age of the Wanderers is about 45.  So you can imagine how we are feeling.

The game will be played at 8:30 this evening to raise funds for a local charity.
